How to change your name in PAN or Aadhar or Bank Account

 If your name  is misspelled either in your Bank Account/PAN card/Aadhar card than it is a serious problem as after your demise various issues may creep up.

If the name is misspelled in any other document but is correct in the Bank Account/PAN card/Aadhar card then using PAN/Aadhar you can very easily update it.

The very first step to get it updated in the Bank Account/PAN card/Aadhar card is to apply for updation in the State Gazette. This service is now offered online in many states in India. For the availability of the service online in your state you can visit: services.india.gov.in . Search for "change of name" in the search window (use Advanced search). Click on the relevant search result which will bring you to the government portal of your state. You may be asked to register yourself in the portal. Follow the instructions and submit the required details. The updation in the gazette usually gets done within 15 days of submission of your details.

Once the name is updated in the State Gazette, you can submit the copy of it first for updation in the PAN card. Then submit the updated PAN card details for updation in the Aadhar card and your Bank account.
